Welcome to Z Ranch! We are thrilled to partner with Charter Schools to provide enriching educational experiences for students. Located in Templeton, California, Z Ranch has been a family-owned establishment since 2008, dedicated to fostering a love for nature, agriculture, and animal care.

As a vendor for Charter Schools, we offer a diverse range of programs designed to inspire and educate students through engaging, hands-on experiences. Our offerings include:

Gardening Workshops: Students will learn the fundamentals of gardening, including tool usage, planting techniques, and the benefits of various plants, all while getting their hands dirty and cultivating a love for nurturing the earth.
Horseback Riding Lessons: With over eight years of experience, we provide individual and group lessons that cover essential horse care fundamentals. Our trail rides combine an introduction to riding with the joy of connecting with these magnificent animals.
Animal Science Programs: Students will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of animals, learning about the differences and similarities between animal and human anatomy, the contributions of animals to our lives, and how to care for them properly.

Through these programs, Z Ranch aims to foster personal growth, a connection with nature, and a passion for animal care in students of all ages. We look forward to working with Heartland Charter School and its families to provide transformative learning opportunities.

Gardening Workshop

Class Duration: 1 hour
Pricing:

1 Class: $35
Monthly Package: 3 Classes for $100

In this Gardening Workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of gardening through hands-on experiences. We will cover how to use basic gardening tools, understand the essential requirements for successful gardening, and identify the best plants to grow in a home garden.

Participants will discover which plants offer healing benefits to the human body and engage in practical activities where they will get their hands dirty by planting their own seeds or seedlings—be it a vegetable, flower, or tree. Almost every class, students will bring home a new plant, along with the rewarding experience of nurturing it as it grows.

In addition to fostering a love for gardening, this workshop aims to inspire students to either cultivate their own gardens at home or consider pursuing a career in the gardening or agricultural industry as they grow older. Each session will involve the preparation of learning materials that outline the plants we discuss and work with, ensuring students gain a deeper understanding of gardening principles.

As we cultivate the earth and explore the wonders of plant life, students can expect to come away with not only knowledge but also the joy of nurturing their very own plants, all while embracing the fun of getting a little messy along the way!

Horseback Riding Lessons & Trail Rides

At Z Ranch, we offer personalized Horseback Riding Lessons and Trail Rides designed to cater to riders of all levels, focusing on safety, education, and enjoyment. Our programs provide an excellent foundation for both beginners and more experienced riders.

Pricing:

Trail Ride: $100 for a 1-hour ride
Riding Lesson: $55 for a 45-minute lesson
Monthly Packages:
- 3 Trail Rides: $295
- 3 Lessons: $190

For families looking to save, I offer discounted rates for group rides or lessons if parents can gather a few kids together at the same time.

Lesson Structure:

In our Horseback Riding Lessons, we start from the ground up. Each lesson will cover the essential aspects of horse care and riding, including:

Understanding the various types of tack and equipment needed for horses
Learning how to properly clean and care for a horse
Techniques for saddling a horse
Getting on and off the horse safely
Instruction on how to fall off safely when riding

While time in the saddle is essential, our primary focus is on educating students about horse care and safety to ensure they build a strong foundation for their riding journey.

Trail Rides:

Our trail rides offer a relaxed and enjoyable experience through the beautiful rolling hills of Templeton. Before each ride, I provide a brief introductory lesson to prepare students for their experience. I will have everything set up and ready for the horse and the student, making it easy for them to mount and enjoy the ride without any prior experience.

These trail rides are perfect for helping students gain confidence while connecting with their horse in a stunning natural setting.

By participating in our Horseback Riding Lessons and Trail Rides at Z Ranch, students will not only learn valuable skills but also develop a deeper appreciation for these magnificent animals and the joy of riding.

Animal Science Programs

The Animal Science Programs at Z Ranch offer engaging hands-on experiences with a variety of animals, allowing children to learn about the differences and similarities between animal and human anatomy, the contributions of animals to human life, and how to care for them properly.

In this program, students will explore different types of animals and understand how their bodies are structured in comparison to human bodies. We will discuss the essential roles animals play in our daily lives and what they need from us to thrive. Students will receive practical knowledge on animal care, including medication and training, while gaining insights into the responsibilities involved in caring for animals.

Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of animals, from common farm animals to a few exotic species, learning about their different anatomical parts and terminology. Each class will feature a specific "animal of the day," and I will provide materials that cover the relevant information we discuss, ensuring students leave with a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.

This program not only aims to educate but also to inspire a lifelong love and respect for animals, encouraging kids to think about pursuing careers in animal care, veterinary science, or related fields.
